TWO NCS MOC TITLES
Jung Sets Meet Record; Girls' 3200 Relay Wins in School Record Time

Punching her ticket early for next weekend's California State Championships , Stacey Jung (08) vaulted her way to the NCS Meet of Champions title at Friday's trials competition. Her winning mark of 12-2.5 is the new meet record, new school record, and the All-Time area best for the event!

Teammate Jackie Attiyeh (08) continued her sensational post season vaulting magic with a sixth place finish.

On the track Daniel Murray (08) gained valuable experience, finishing his 400m in 52.1ce, while Chris Harland-Dunaway (07) won his 800m heat to advance to Saturday's finals.

The fantastic day was capped for the Cougars by two impressive 3200m Relay performances. Ross Geiger's (09) mind blowing 2:03.7 opening leg set the tone as Max Bayuk (10), Jarret Hendrickson (09) and Jared Wong (09) each rolled to season bests in the boys' race.

For the girls, it was a battled for the ages as College Park looked to defend their streak of five consecutive MOC Relay titles. In spite of solid splits from Rebecka Watson (08) and Lisa Rosenthal (09), the Cougars were trailing through the first two legs.

Olivia Warren (10) closed the gap with a stunning 2:26.9 performance, handing off to anchor runner Sara Tomas (10) within a few strides of the leader. The upstart freshman showed impressive poise, stalking the Falcons' Kelsey Gallagher for 400m before surging into the lead. Covering the final lap in 73 seconds, Tomas cranked out a 2:23.4 split to ensure victory and help her squad crush the school record by a whopping ten seconds!
