| DFAL Meet vs. Acalanes, Miramonte RESULTS AT BOTTOM OF PAGE Varsity Squads Squeak Out Wins, Claim Title Share; Frosh Squads Move into Contention as Post Season Approaches In spite of injury to key contributors, the varsity boys' held off tough challenges from Acalanes and Miramonte to complete a perfect regular season at Wednesday's tri-meet. With clutch efforts from Matt Keeble (10) in the hurdle events, a spectacular 200m victory for Alex Isaksson (09), and first and second place vaults for Alex Kalish (10) and Brayton Noll (09) respectively, the Cougars managed to upset the visitors by narrow margins. For the varsity girls, it was consistency across the board that earned victory. Eva Isaacs (10) covered the throws with double victories. Alyssa Huberts (10) and Katie Shulenberger (10) heaped up points in the jumps and hurdles. Jessie Hyde topped the pole vault, and the core of distance runners, including Grace Orders' (11) workhorse triple, simply wore out the competition. At 7-0, both varsity squads are guaranteed a share of the league title. With championship efforts at next weeks DFAL finals, these teams could claim the crowns outright. The frosh soph boys, inspired by giant improvements for Dyaln Laucher (11) in the 1600m and 3200m, as well as a scorching 2:06.9 finish for Leland Wong (12) in the 800m, scored double wins to maintain their hopes of a title showdown with Dougherty Valley. And with the frosh soph girls managing a split, they also remain in contention for a league championship.
