Isaacs Earns Title; Brondello, Noll Open Big while Frosh Soph Girls' Distance Relay Sets East Bay Invite Meet Record

Launching the platter nearly 112 feet, Eva Isaacs (10) began her 2009 season in earnest on Saturday with an East Bay Invitational meet victory. The junior star followed up the solid discus performance with a runner up mark in the varsity girls' shot put.

Michael Brondello (09) took advantage of a strong 1600m field to open his spring campaign just three seconds off his career best, finishing second.

Meanwhile, the vault tandem of Brayton Noll (09) and Alex Kalish (09) set new personal bests at 13 and 12 feet respectively. Noll's mark was good enough for 7th all-time on the Cougar record board.

The relay performance of the day came early, as Carrie Verdon (12), Allison Shulenberger (12), Sara Mostatabi (11) and Grace Orders (11) nearly lapped the entire distance medley field on their way to a new meet record.
