Double PR for Pakzadan; Farvard, Sun Drop 1600m Bests at Red vs. Blue Meet Ahva Pakzadan (12) set new personal bests in both the shot put and discus to lead a solid list of performances in the girls' throwing events at Friday's annual Red vs. Blue intra squad meet. First time thrower, Patrick Kalvass (13) eclipsed the century mark in the discus with a fine 103-9 debut before putting the shot over 34 feet to finish second. On the track, sophomores Cameron Sun (13) and Rod Farvard (13) reaped the rewards of winter training with impressive improvements in the 1600m, clocking 5:00.2 and 5:06.4, respectively. Farvard's time is a 25 drop from his 2010 PR. Also making progress over last year's best was Kevin Fong (13), who finished the four lap effort in 5:14.7. Tony Knox (12) dominated the technical events with wins in both hurdle races, as well as a 19 foot long jump mark. This year's team competition came down to the final event for the boys, as the Blue squad's 1600 Relay held off a late charging Chris Maag (12) on the final leg to clinch the victory.
