Orders Runs 5th All-Time 3200m, Harland-Dunaway Leaps to 5th All-Time in 300 Hurdles, Shurtz Wins Discus, Pfaff Over 6 Feet at Halden

In unusually windy conditions at Davis Senior High School's Halden Invitational, Mary Orders (15) capped a long but fruitful day for the Cougars. Her gutsy sub-11 minute 3200m performance moves her to 5th on the All-Time School Record board.

Earlier in the day, Jack Shurtz (15) extended his PR streak with a 134 foot discus throw to win the event. Teammate Jonathan Rowland (14) launched the shot over 42 feet for the first time, an improvement of nearly 4 feet.

Also in the field, Justin Pfaff (16) won the frosh soph boys' high jump with a remarkable 6 foot clearance. It was Pfaff's first high jump competition of his career.

Marcus Harland-Dunaway (14) set new top marks in both hurdle events, first cracking 16 seconds for the first time in the 110m distance, then powering through 300m to climb to 5th on the All-Time list.

In the frosh soph distance event, Nathaniel Sauerberg (16) turned in a pair of wins. He improved to 4:40.67 in the 1600m and a led wire to wire in the 3200m. Jack Strong (17) crushed his previous 1600m mark, equalling his 800m PR of 2:30 en route to a 16 second best of 5:14.64 over 4 laps.

Robin Powell (17) dropped under 5:40 for the first time in the 1600m and Ben Weinberg (14) turned 8 laps in a new personal best of 9:44.79.
