Distance Sweeps, Manty Wins 4 Events to Propel Frosh Soph Boys' to Victory

While the depth of the Campolindo distance squad was sweeping all of the scoring places in the 800m, 1600m and 3200m races, Brandon Manty (20) was propping up the Cougar's depleted sprint and jump crew with wins in 4 different events!

With additional wins from Lucas Moore (19) in the shot put and discus, and a new personal best from Anish Visht (19) in the vault, the frosh soph boys took another step toward their goal of a perfect regular season record, beating the visiting Las Lomas Knights by 56 points.

A bounty of improvements helped the frosh soph girls continue their own unbeaten streak, including 8 feet added to Arine Kim's (20) discus best.

Other notables included an 8-second drop for Alicia Hober in the 800m and a 14-second improvement from Catherine Zhang in the 3200m. Kira D'Iorio (19) and Mia Travis (20) snuck under the 6-minute mark for the 1st time in the 1600m.

For the varsity boys, Andrew Tseng (18) knocked 9 seconds off his 3200m PR to take 2nd place while Andrew Kimball (17) added another 5 feet to his discus mark, which now stands at 118-10.

Lauren Williams (17) continued her dominance in the sprints and jumps for the varsity girls, winning the 400m and 200m races as well as the triple jump. Elizabeth Garcia (18) finished in 2:45.98 in the 800m, a 2-second improvement, and Kiana Lew (17) crushed her previous 3200m best by 15 seconds.
