JV Boys Post Perfect Score; Individual, Team Title Sweep Completes DAL Season While conditions were overcast on Saturday, Campolindo shined with its greatest league championship success in program history. The Cougars were 12 for 12, sweeping both the individual and team titles at Hidden Valley Park. The junior varsity boys summed up the dominating performance by packing its 7 scorers across the line ahead of every other team's 1st finisher. The 15-point perfection added yet another year to the squad's title streak, which dates back to 2007. The trio of Cale Anderson (24), Thomas Singh (23), and Alessandro Paolieri (23), did the font running while Santiago Jordan (24) contributed a huge PR to close out his season as the 7th man. The tone for the day was set by the frosh soph boys in the opening event. Cody De La Cruz (26) picked a perfect day to claim his 1st individual victory, winning emphatically over pre-meet favorites from Berean Christian and Northgate by 20 seconds. Josiah Beardsley (25) moved into the #2 position for Campo while Russell Wang (25) and Declan Anderson (25) turned in their own all-time best performances to slam the door shut on the team competition. The frosh soph girls followed with Sloan Pullen (25) handily defending her individual title and Emily Koehler (26), Elle Reisman (26), and Jasia Hilaski (26) breaking into the top 10 to give the Cougars 6 of the 10 all-league medalists in the division. Hilaski's finish time of 14:59 was an improvement by 1 minute and 45 seconds. Anjeli Rao (26) and Madison Collins (26) also posted massive improvements to finish 26th and 39th, respectively. In the final non-varsity race of the day, Quinn Guthrie (23), Daisy Penney (24), Mia Lawrence (24), and Bryn Hober (23) claimed the top 4 places while Lena Espiritu (24) and Meeran Gill (25) rose to the occasion with their own top-10 finishes. Gill's mark of 15:02 demolished her previous best by 2 minutes and 30 seconds. The squad's team time of 68:48 is a school record on the course. Alex Lodewick (23) began his post-season journey by posting the fastest HVP 3-mile time in school history. The senior pulled away from his nearest rivals after the opening mile, building a 25-second margin of victory. He was followed into the top 7 by teammates Connor McGhee (23), Blake Webster (23), and Baron Walsh (24), who finished 3rd, 5th, and 7th, respectively. Paulo Trento (24) delivered for the squad in his debut on the course, beating all but 1 other team's #3 scorer. The varsity girls squad completed the sweep with another sensational team performance. Ellie Buckley (23) earned the individual crown while 5 of her teammates followed her into the top 10. Running 41 seconds faster than her time from DAL center meet #1, Rachel Moen (24) placed 6th overall. Other athletes who turned in extraordinary PRs by over 2 minutes include freshmen Nathan Littell (26), Liam Dinwiddie (26), Aaron Wang (26), and Matthew Wen (26).
