Mid-Season Mania 1600m Invitational RESULTS AT BOTTOM OF PAGE
Bob Wilson Stadium Magic Inspires Fast Times at Annual Mid-Season Mania Invite Nearly 500 competitors from 14 schools converged on the Campolindo High School track stadium for a festival of mixed-gender 1600m races during Wednesday afternoon and evening as the Cougars hosted the 3rd annual Mid-Season Mania Invitational. A unique change of pace in the middle of the fall cross country season, the event offered an opportunity for athletes to drop down in distance and compete on the synthetic surface of Bob Wilson Stadium's magic oval. Once the sun had fallen behind the home stands hillside, conditions were ideal with temperatures in the 70's and not even the slightest breeze. Taking advantage, Casey Dow (23) topped the list of improvements for the Cougars with an outstanding 1 minute and 19 second betterment of his 2021 performance, crossing the finish in 5:17.42. Other notable personal records included a 5:08.48 clocking by Alessandro Paolieri (23) and a 5:16.75 mark by Christian Prizeman (24). Sloan Pullen (25) topped the girls' list of impressive progress by shaving 32 seconds from the mark she achieved last year. Her 5:13.68 finish time is the 7th fastest ever run by a Campolindo athlete for the distance during the fall season. The #3 and #5 all-time marks were turned in by Ellie Buckley (23) and Shea Volkmer (24). The final race of the 25-heat marathon featured top-10 record results from Alex Lodewick (23), Connor McGhee (23), and Blake Webster (23), with Lodewick's runner-up finish in 4:21.57 being the new all-time standard.
