Summer 2-Mile Time Trial RESULTS AT BOTTOM OF PAGE
Time Trial Tests Early Summer Fitness A handful of Campolindo runners toed the line at Thursday's 2-mile time trial in order to set a baseline of fitness by which to measure progress during the summer training cycle. Joined by a hoard of Northgate athletes, the defending league champions posted modest marks on the Hidden Valley Park course. The lone returning varsity representative for the Cougars, Connor McGhee (23), fell short of an individual victory, finishing just behind the Bronco's ace in a time of 11:11. In the girls' competition, Daisy Penney (24) was the only returning athlete in attendance for Campolindo. After leading early, Penney faded to 3rd. Top marks from the newest editions to the squad came from Sean Hu (26), who crossed the line in 15:26, and Carina Trento (26), who broke the tape in 15:48.
