| DFAL Meet vs. Alhambra, Dublin RESULTS AT BOTTOM OF PAGE Girls Overcome Missteps, Keeble Leads Boys with 40 Foot Tripe Jump Debut Matt Keeble (10) began his triple jump career with a 40 foot leap that outdistanced the second place mark by nearly four feet. Along with two hurdle victories, the talented junior looks to finally be rounding into form, just in time for the DFAL meet schedule. Bolstered by personal bests from Michael Zhang (10) in the hurdles, Alex Kalish (10) in vault, and Nate Cox (09) and Douglas Chudler (09) in the distances, the varsity boys held off a tough Alhambra squad for the victory. Dylan Laucher (11) made a statement early for the frosh soph boys with a 4:47.7 finish in the 1600m, then closed the meet in 10:22.3 for 3200m. Also stepping up for the youngsters were Leland Wong (12) in the 300 Hurdles, Griffin Brumbaugh (11) in the discus, and Taylor Abbott (11) in the 400m. Their efforts help the frosh soph squad sneak past a much improved Dublin squad by a narrow 14 point margin. Sara Mostatabi (10) played the lead role in the frosh soph girls' winning performance, winning all three distance events along with an impressive runner up put of the shot. Rachel Kaufman (12) was also a triple winner, topping all competitors in the High Jump, Triple Jump and the 100 Hurdles. Combining for 34 individual points, the duo ensured a 2-0 season start for the frosh soph squad. The toughest task of the day was handled by Olivia Warren (10) and rookie sensation Kaelyn Caspillo (10), as the middle distance tandem competed in the 400m, the 800m and the 1600 Relay. Their solid relay splits to conclude the competition contributed to a sub 4:15 clocking for the second consecutive week. In spite of some spills in the hurdles which resulted in critical scratches in later events, athletes like Emily Brennan (10) picked up the slack by jumping into additional events to hold off a much imporved Dublin squad.
