Verdon Crushes 3200m School Record by Fourteen Seconds, Isaacs Improves Shot, Disc Marks at Meet of Champions After sitting in the lead pack for over seven laps, Carrie Verdon (12) erupted down the home stretch of the Sacramento Meet of Champions 3200m race Saturday evening to overtake Marin Academy's Lucy McCullough and Carondelet's Heather Cerney for second place in a field that featured many of Northern California's finest distance stars. Verdon's 10:42.87 time for eight laps soars to the top of the Campolindo school record board, besting Sara Riley's 1991 performance by fourteen seconds. In the ring, Eva Isaacs (10) continued to sharpen her technique in preparation of another state meet run with improvements in both shot put and discus.
