Girls' 4xMile Relay Sets School Record at Mt. SAC Relays; Boys 8th in Elite Field Solid personal bests from veteran distance runners Juliet Farnan (12) and Sara Mostatabi (11) helped the girls' 4 x Mile relay squad climb to the top of the record board, finishing 7th in 21:00.95 at Friday evening's Mt. SAC Distance Carnival in Southern California. While Farnan and Mostatabi both split 5:23 for the Cougars, Carrie Verdon (12) clocked the fastest leg in 5:00 and lead off runner Rachel Meadows (12) put the team in contention early with a 5:13. The boys' 4 x Mile squad bettered their entry mark, which had them seeded 20th, to finish 8th in a time of 18:06.47. The mark is third on the Campolindo All-Time list. Vinson Compestine (12) put his teammates in the mix with a 4:32 lead off leg before Thomas Joyce (12) rolled to a 4:24 split that had the Cougars briefly in 5th place. Adam Hathaway (13) and Dylan Laucher (11) closed out the race with fine splits of 4:40 and 4:29, respectively, for the full mile distance. Haley Shipway (14) finished the open 3200m race in 12:06.89.
