Varsity Championship TRIALS RESULTS AT BOTTOM OF PAGE Protzen Rocks Vault, PR's in 300m Hurdles; Lothamer Lands NCS Triple Jump Berth Parker Lothamer (15) managed to score a point and advance to the NCS Tri-Valley Championships with a triple jump of 39 feet, five inches at Wednesday's DFAL "trials" meet. It was the first of several strong performances by the Cougars. Brian Pfaff (13) earned his second trip to the post season with a 2nd place finish in the high jump. The senior also looked strong in the hurdle events, finishing as the number 2 seed for Friday's 110 Hurdle final. Ryan Hoffman (13) advanced to finals in both the 400m and 200m events. His 22.76 for the half lap moves him to 9th on the All-Time list. Also debuting on the record board was Andy VanHeuit (13), who ran 41.65 in the 300m hurdles. For the girls, it was Miranda Protzen (15) who stepped up to the championship spotlight. The sophomore finished 4th in the vault with a clearance of 9 feet before crushing her 300m hurdle best to earn a spot in the finals as the number 3 seed.
