Parker Leaps to 7th All-Time Triple Jump; Axelrod Cracks 140 in Discus at Foothill

Foothill High School hosted the Bay Area Relays Invitational on Saturday as select Cougars participated in a final competition before a 2-and-a-half week break in their schedule. Moderate wind and sunny skies inspired strong performances from veterans like Sean Parker (26), who posted a season's best in the long jump and a record-board mark in the triple jump. Parker's leap of 42 feet, 6 and a quarter inch in the latter is 7th best in school history.

Ben Axelrod (26) also impressed with PRs in both throwing events, including a 1st-time toss over 140 feet in the discus.

in the open 100m event, Rithik Narayan (25) knocked nearly 2 seconds from his previous best, while Renee Joseph (27) lowered her mark to 14.00.

The frosh soph boys' distance crew dominated both the distance medley relay and the 4x800 relay, winning with large margins thanks to strong legs from Drew Shogan (27) and Carter Cook (27).

The girls' sprint squad saw stellar mid-season 400m splits posted by Sierra Worster (26) and Jasmine McCasland (27). Worster 1st broke 60 seconds in the varsity girls' distance medley relay to help her squad to the win, then McCasland split 58 flat to anchor the sprint medley relay.
