Varsity Girls Push Title Streak to 4 Years; FS Boys Win with Distance Dominance

With runner-up finishes in both relays and points scored in 15 of 16 events, the Campolindo varsity girls earned their 4th consecutive DAL championship at Saturday's league finals. The margin of victory over 2nd place Clayton Valley was just 8 points, the total earned by the Cougars in the final event of the day, the 1600 relay.

Helping her squad build an early lead, freshman Emma Stimmler (28) claimed unexpected points with a new personal best of 4-10 in the high jump after winning the 100 hurdles. Her hurdle time of 16.02 is now 7th best in school history.

Other highlights for the varsity girls included an impressive distance double from Claire Andrzejek (26), who finished 4th in the 1600m and a close 2nd in the 800m. The junior's 5:06.50 in the 4-lap affair moves her into the Campolindo all-time top 20.

In the frosh soph boys division, Rorey Freer (28) notched an individual league crown in the 400m while his teammates dominated the distance events. Taiyo Chiba (27), Carter Cook (27), and Samuel Hearn (27) won the 1600m, 800m, and 3200m, respectively. The Campolindo squad accounted for 10 of the 18 scorers in those 3 events.
