Girls Rule Relays at Dublin Distance Fest; Gregory Runs to 9th-All Time in 3200m

The Cougars dominated the finale event on each evening of the nation's largest distance-only competition. Hosted by Dublin High School, the 2025 Dublin Distance Fiesta boasted over 4,000 competitors in 226 separate races spanning 2 days.

In 2024 the Campolindo girls, anchored by all-time great Shea Volkmer (24), won the 4x800m relay in a meet record time of 9:31.93. This year, with an entirely new lineup, including the vastly improved senior Meeran Gill (25) and Ohio transfer Helen Randolph (25), the Cougars once again separated from a competitive field early to earn the Friday evening title. Sophomore Kiona McCasland (27) took the lead on the backstretch of her 2nd lap en route to a 2:22 split. Randolph and Gill followed before Claire Andrzejek (26) closed in 2:19.

The squad's 9:32.23 clocking is 2nd fastest in meet history, just 3-tenths of a second behind their 2025 performance. It also lands them 6th on the school-record list.

Saturday began with nifty personal bests in the 800m races, including 5-second improvements by Helen Shephard (25) and Nikola Van Delft (27). The top 800m time was turned in by sophomore Taiyo Chiba (27), who lowered his PR to 2:04.73.

The 8-lap event saw impressive efforts from Jack Durden (27) and Clark Gregory. The 9:18.27 finish for Gregory is now 9th on the Cougar all-time list.

The marathon of distance events was closed out by the girls' distance medley relay squad. Randolph opened a 30m lead before handing the baton to Sierra Worster (26) who provided a 61.8-second lap-split. Andrzejek and McCasland maintained the advantage as Campolindo duplicated its previous evening's victory.
