Girls' Sprint Crew Records Record-Board Relay Marks in DAL Dual v. Northgate

Favorable wind helped most short sprinters record season-best times at Wednesday's DAL dual meet against the visiting Northgate Broncos, including Jasmine McCasland (27), who breezed to a 100m victory in 12.63. The mark moves the sophomore to 7th on the all-time school record list.

Also advancing up the record list was Sarah Graves (26), who won the 200m in a time of 27.05. In spite of a backstretch headwind, Ellie Doane (25) turned in her best 400m performance with a 63.64 clocking; though it was freshman distance standout Jillian Randolph (28) who surprised the 1-lap field with a 1st-place finish in 62.69.

The Cougar girls also dominated the relay events, posting season-bests of 50.13 in the 4x100 and 4:06.97 in the 4x400m. Both are record-board worthy marks.

The boy's competition featured the return of Rithik Narayan (25) in the hurdles. The senior veteran won the 110m event in 16.10 and the 300m race in a new PR of 42.84. Ben Axelrod (25) was a double winner in the throws, including a career best discus toss of 136-8.

Theo Walden (28) added nearly 8 feet to his own discus mark to earn most improved honors for the meet. Vivienne Dunn (27) continued that trend for the throwers with huge gains in both the shot put and discus. Her nearly 5-foot increase in the shot put was a 31% improvement.
