Boys' 4x800 Relay Leads Wire-to-Wire; Girls' Squad Finishes 2nd at Tri-Valley

While the 4x800 relay squad powered by an impressive lead-off leg from Chase Nickens (28) landed 1 of only 2 event titles for the Cougars at Saturday's NCS Tri-Valley Area Championships at Foothill High School, it was the collective effort of the Campolindo girls' that earned a runner-up finish in the team standings.

Top scorers for the girls included pole vault winner Sophia Moore (28), 400m runner-up Jasmine McCasland (27), 800m runner-up Claire Andrzejek (26), and the 2nd-place 4x100 relay squad which equaled the school record it set the previous weekend. Emma Stimmler (28) was 3rd in the 100 hurdles and 5th in the 300 hurdles, while the girls' 4x800 relay team managed to squeak out a point by finishing 6th.

Caden Ehrhorn (28) was the top individual scorer for the boys with a 2nd-place finish in the 1600m, 2 places ahead of teammate Carter Cook (27).

Also advancing to the NCS Meet of Champions was Malik Li (26) in the pole vault along with Sean (26) and Denzel Parker (28) in the long jump. In addition, Sean Parker finished 5th in the triple jump.
