Their finishing time of 7:50.20 is a new school record and currently ranks 3rd in the United States for the 2026 outdoor season. While Cook and Gregory provided sub-2 minute legs to keep the Cougars in 2nd place through the halfway point, it was the sensational 1:53.9 split from Ehrhorn that gave them the lead. De La Cruz then took the tape in 1:58.2 to break the 41-year-old school record by an astonishing 11 seconds. Other meet highlights included a runner-up finish for the girls' Distance Medley Relay on Saturday evening. Strong efforts from Kiona McCasland (27) and Claire Andrzejek (26) helped the team maintain a lead over the rest of the field for most of the race. The squad eventually finished 2nd with a time of 12:22.26, which is 10th best in school history. In the open 3200m on Saturday, Gregory and Ehrhorn led a strong showing for the team, finishing in 9:14.69 and 9:15.39, respectively. Gavin Gunn (27) was next best at 9:27.35.
