Newbie Girls Dominate at Little Ed; Eames Leads Rookie Boys' Charge

Placing five in the top ten, the newest Cougar harriers made a big statement to open the 2006 season. Michelle Pelletreau's (10) steady push in the final mile landed her third, leading the rookie girl's squad to a solid performance against league power College Park, as well as teams from Acalanes, Alhambra, Deer Valley and Oakland.

Riki Giacchetti (07), Sara Tomas (10), Melinda Hickey (09) and Megan Caldwell (09) were tightly packed on the heels of Pelletreau's efforts, finishing well ahead of the traditionally deep Falcon's fourth runner.

On the boy's side it was first-timer Marshall Eames (07) hammering out a seventh place performance to begin his cross country career! Freshman Paul Jackson (10) also ran strong for the Cougars, finishing thirteenth.
