Buckley Dominates Veterans, Mud Pit Claims Victim at Annual Orienteering Will Buckley (16) navigated his way to the win at Saturday's Orienteering Championships. Held at Hidden Lakes Park, the Cougars enjoyed intra squad competition, as athletes were challenged with finding a dozen check points throughout the open space. While the crafty Buckley dodged through much of the terrain unharmed, teammate Mary Orders (15) suffered a slimy fate at the hands of a mud pit at the bottom of a ravine. Nevertheless, the feisty junior shrugged off the sour smelling coating and managed to finish with all check points accounted for. The Veteran Girls' division was won by Natasha McCullough (16), who beat out runner-up Tori Oto (14). Jack Strong (17) not only topped the Rookie Boys' field, but was the overall champion for the day.
