Mud Pit Claims Victims at Orienteering

Using a superior combination of navigational skills and aerobic fitness, Casey Chambers (18) claimed victory at the annual orienteering championships at Hidden Valley Park. The precocious sophomore also made use of his aquatic skills as he swam across the always treacherous main lake.

Isabella Chao (18) won the veteran girls division, beating out runner up Savannah Hilton (18).

Clare Ahern (17) recorded the fastest girl’s time en route to winning the rookie division while Teddy Buckley (19) used an aggressive late race push to secure the win over a hard charging Evan Amsden (16) in the rookie boy’s competition.

Once again the notorious mud pit claimed victims as Mia Strong (19) and Ariana Gonzalez (17) were unable to escape its grasp.

Timothy Sams (18) earned the hardcore award for his fearless racing style, running most of the competition with an open wound covered in mud and slimy lake water.
