Summer Harriers Enjoy Coastal Fog, Damp Trails en route to Stinson Beach
19 athletes and a handful of parents and coaches traversed the historic Dipsea trail from Mill Valley to Stinson Beach on Saturday. Most of the group managed to navigate their way over the challenging climbs and finished off the effort with a plunge into the frigid Pacific surf before enjoying food and frolic at Stinson Beach.
A select number of runners did miss a turn approximately 5 miles into their journey and ended up hitting the coast farther south than they had hoped. After readjusting their bearings, the misguided crew managed to reunite with their teammates via a mile-long detour on highway 1.
Blue skies made an appearance just as the party wrapped up.
