Volkmer Shows What Summer Miles Can Accomplish with Savage HVP Course Run
No athlete has been more committed to training over the summer months than Shea Volkmer (24) and it showed at Thursday's final time trial on the rugged Hidden Valley Park 2-mile course as the returning junior rolled to a 3rd place finish overall and one of the fastest times every recorded by a Campolindo competitor. Her 12:14 mark moves her to 5th on the all-time record list, ahead of Cougar legend Grace Orders.
Finishing ahead of Volkmer were varsity boys' contenders Alex Thomasson (24) and Connor McGhee (23), who worked together for much of the race.
