Mid-Season Mania 1600m Invitational RESULTS AT BOTTOM OF PAGE
Campolindo Posts 9 of Top-20 Times at Mid-Season Mania 1600m Invitational The collective efforts of the varsity boys' squad produced another historic result as the Cougars landed 9 of the top-20 fastest times of the evening at Wednesday's Mid-Season Mania 1600m Invitational hosted on the brand-new all-weather track in Bob Wilson Stadium. With overcast skies, little wind, and temperatures hovering in the low 60s, conditions were exceptional as over 500 athletes from 17 area schools converged for a night of mixed-gender heats under the lights. Caden Ehrhorn (28) lowered his personal best for the 4-lap distance to 4:17.89, while teammates Clark Gregory (27), Chase Nickens (28), and Gavin Gunn (27) made their competitive debuts for the season to finish among the top-10. Nikola Van Delft (27) dropped his PR by an astounding 15 seconds as he continues to raise the bar for the deepest boys' team in school history. Close on his heels were Carter Cook (27) and Jack Durden (27), who also crossed the line with career bests under the 4:30 mark. The lone senior among Campolindo's fastest 11 finishers was Cody De La Cruz (26), who himself posted a new PR at 4:28.81. Doubling back for a 2nd-consecutive week of front-running for the Cougars, Jillian Randolph (28) and Amalia Contreras (27) were far and away ahead of the rest of their squad, breaking the tape in 5:12.16 and 5:16.38, respectively. The rookie girls were again led by Adeline Travis (29) as the talented freshman moved up to 4th on the depth chart. Most improved over last year's performance was Matteo Marchetti (27), who lowered his time by 40 seconds to finish in 5:13.56. His counterpart on the girls' team was Enya Zheng (27) with a 30 second improvement.
