Cougar Harriers Rack up Miles, Memories at Annual Humboldt State Running Camp
30 Campolindo veteran cross country teammates joined runners from across the country for a week-long adventure amidst the redwoods at the 2019 Humboldt State Distance Running Camp. Highlights included afternoon runs at Clam Beach, Patrick's Point and on the Tall Trees Trail. Hoka sponsored Phillip Reid headlined a host of high school, collegiate and elite coach and athlete speakers.
Many of the attendees logged as much as 60 miles of training as they continued their summer progression in preparation for the 2019 fall cross country season.

Harriers Run Mystery Fartlek at Newhall
Returning just 3 days after racing on its gravel trails at the final DAL Center Meet of the season, the Cougar harriers convened at Concord's Newhall Park on Saturday for a critical workout in preparation for the approaching league championships.
The mystery fartlek grouped athletes by ability. During the 50-minute run, individuals in each group executed various pace changes. The goal was for athletes in the group to stay alert and respond efficiently in order to maintain contact.
With 20 minutes of running as part of the performance warm up and another 5 minutes of easy cool down, most athletes accumulated 75 minutes of quality mileage for the day.

Boys' Shocker Completes 1st-Ever State Championship Sweep for Cougars; Girls' Roll to Commanding Victory over D3 Field
With a stunning upset over #1 ranked Maria Carrillo at Saturday's CIF Championships, the varsity boys' squad helped Campolindo join just a handful of schools that have won both girls' and boys' state titles in the same year. The 2019 state crown is also a 1st for the Cougar boys' program, and the 1st for a North Coast Section team in Division 3.
